“An irresistibly delicious story of community, self-discovery, renewal... and the power of baked goods”

For centuries, a small community of fishermen and their families lived on the "Red Eye" of Rödlöga. Its location, far out in the Archipelago, fed by wells of drinking water, small areas for farming, and rich fishing waters in the open Baltic Sea, made Rödlöga an idyllic place to live.
In the late 19th century and early 20th century — Rödlöga became increasingly popular as a summer destination for city dwellers from Stockholm. Its untouched nature, cut off from modern distractions, has created a life not unsimilar to one that existed hundreds of years ago. Visitors come to kayak, sail, hike and camp while residents maintain the land as a nature reserve - protecting both the land and the waters around it.
In making the film, our hope is that many more people will visit the outer Stockholm Archipelago to experience the unique balance that Rödlogans are able to achieve every summer.

The easiest way to visit Rödlöga is by travelling from Stockholm by ferry. It is a four hour boat ride, but one of the most beautiful trips you'll ever take.
Take the 26 ferry from the Strömkajen terminal in Stockholm to Rödlöga. The ferry time table is available here: https://waxholmsbolaget.se/
There's no need to book your ticket ahead of time - simply purchase one when on board. The ferry has a well stocked café and bar, and the last flushable toilet you'll find before stepping onto Rödlöga!

Accommodation options on the island itself are fairly limited but camping is free across Rödlöga with the permission of the land owner. Off island, but a short boat ride away, there are several airbnbs on the islands of Blidö and Yxlö.
If you're sailing by boat, there are several docking spots around the island.
